Information Collection and Use
Excelligence Learning Corporation dba Discount School Supply/Earlychildhood NEWS is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell or rent out this information, nor will we share it with third parties other than as disclosed in this policy. We collect information from users at several different points on the website.

In order to use some features of this website, a user must first complete the registration form. Our site is designed for adult use, and all registrants must be over the age of 18. During registration, users are required to give their contact information (including name and email address), select a password, and choose a "personal question/answer" to verify their identity if they contact us via phone. This information is used to contact the user only about the services on our site for which they have expressed interest. After registration, users may choose to provide us with some additional information (such as the type of school they shop for, or their role in the organization). While providing this information is optional, we encourage users to do so, so that we can provide a more personalized shopping experience.

We request information from users on our order form. Users must provide contact information (including name and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customers’ orders. If we have trouble processing an order, the contact information allows us to get in touch with the user.

A "cookie" is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. If the user refuses this cookie when trying to checkout, the site attempts to reissue it - it is required for our shopping cart to function properly, for personalization features, and for the user to checkout. By accepting and retaining this cookie, the user is allowing the site to retain some account information (shopperID, the user’s choice to be a registered customer, his/her first and last name), thereby saving the user login and set-up time when using the site in the future. Cookies also enable us to personalize the experience on our site.

Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

We may share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This information is not linked to any personal information that could be used to identify any individual person.

We use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. This company has notified us that they do not retain, share, store or use personal information for any secondary purposes.

We regularly partner with other outside parties to provide specific services. When a user signs up for these services, or becomes a customer of the company, we may share names or other contact information necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties are not allowed to use personal information except for the purpose of providing these services.

This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. We encourage our users to read the privacy statements of each and every website visited which collects personal information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.

If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address. See "Choice/Opt-out" below if you wish to unsubscribe at a later date.

Surveys & Contests
From time to time, we request information in order for users to participate in contests. Participation in these contests is restricted to adults over the age of 18 and is completely voluntary, so users have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (including name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. We will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. We do not store this information and only use it for the sole purpose of sending a one-time email.

We take precautions to protect our users' personal information. When users submit sensitive information through the website, the information is protected both online and off-line.

When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as name, address, or credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the current industry standard encryption protocol - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, a lock icon on the bottom or top of some Web browsers becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'. Another way to tell if you are on a secure page is to look at the URL (you can look in the address box or right-click on the page and select Properties to see URL). Secure URLs start with https:// instead of http://. To learn more about SSL, follow this link

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything we can to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' personal information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a personal service manager) are granted access to customers’ personal information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Any time new policies are implemented, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they should do to ensure our customers' information is protected. Finally, the servers on which we store personal information are kept in a secure environment.

If you have any questions about the security at our website, you can send an email to (Subject: Security Question).

Email Links
We use email links throughout the site to allow you to contact us directly with questions or comments. We read every message sent in and try to reply promptly where appropriate (for example, we do not reply to all feedback comments). This information is used to respond directly to your questions or comments. We may also file your comments to improve the site or program, or review and discard the information. The comments are for internal use only and are not shared with third parties.
