ACTIVITY
Accessorize!

Remember playing with that big, plastic potato with the plethora of eyes, ears, noses, mouths, and other fun accessories? In this activity, preschoolers will see a different side of themselves by discovering what it would be like to have a menagerie of different facial features and accessories.
Before You Start
Glue the photo to the center of the construction paper. Cut out your features and place double-sided tape on the back.
Let's Begin
1. Sit with your preschooler at the table or on the floor with the photo and the cut-outs. Ask him, “Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have bigger or smaller ears, different hair, or glasses?” Demonstrate how to apply the different cut outs to the picture and have him try a feature. Does he place the feature in the correct position? What is his opinion of his new nose, eyes, etc…? How does he look with glasses? What hat does he like best? Have fun and try as many different feature combinations as you can and give guidance when needed.
Furthermore
Gather a few costume pieces like hats, wigs, big silly ears, or glasses with the nose and mustache attached and let your preschooler explore the possibilities!
