| Nonlocomotor movements are performed with the body remaining in one spot. All can be executed with the body as a whole, but there are also a number of body parts that can execute these skills. |

Explain nonlocomotor skills to the children, as described above.

1. Start by asking the children to show you how the whole body performs each skill in the following list.
2. Then ask them to find out how many body [i]parts[/i] can also perform them. Allow enough time for the children to amply experiment with each skill. The nonlocomotor skills can include: shaking, bending, stretching, twisting and swinging.
