ACTIVITY
Body Prints

With three to five year olds the process of art activities are still more important than the product. This activity lets children use their body parts to create pictures. It can get very messy!
Before You Start
If possible you may want to do this activity outdoors. Otherwise be sure to have paper towels and soapy water on hand for clean up.
Let's Begin
1. Most children may have fingerpainted before. But what about painting with other body parts?

2. Paint the fingertips of the children with your paintbrush. Show them how to press it onto the paper to leave fingerprints. What other body parts can they use to paint?

3. Take some of the suggestions. Children can use hands, toes, fists, or feet to make prints all over the paper.

4. If you are feeling adventuresome try elbows or even a nose print!
Furthermore
Let children trace around hands or feet with crayons. Compare the sizes. Some tracings will be bigger or smaller than others. You can also line the children up to measure. Some bodies are taller than others, but all of the bodies are growing every day.
