ACTIVITY
Body Bows

Babies grow so fast! This activity encourages exploration of new objects and helps babies "find" different body parts. The texture of the bow is different and interesting.

Before You Start
Be sure the bows do not have any sharp points or staples sticking out.
Let's Begin
1. Stick the bow onto baby's hand. Tell the baby, "Look, the bow is on your hand." Watch and see how she reacts. She might stare at the bow, try to put it in her mouth, or try to get it off.

2. Repeat with other body parts such as feet, elbows, tummy, and knees. Be sure and talk to the infant and label body parts as you play.

3. Place the bow on baby's head and help him look at himself in a mirror.

4. Stick a bow on your own head too. Laugh with the baby about how silly you both look.
Furthermore
Put the bows away when you are done playing so infants do not chew on them unsupervised. You can also attach colored hairbands or other objects to hands and feet for play time.
