ACTIVITY
The Campfire

 
Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” This activity gives preschoolers an opportunity to really use their imaginations.

Dramatic Play and Gross Motor
Before You Start
Talk to the children about the experience of making and extinguishing a campfire – specifically discussing the images listed below.
Let's Begin
1. Challenge the children to demonstrate the following:

• A tiny flame
• Flames dancing
• Fire drying out
• Sizzling wood that’s been doused with water
Furthermore
If your preschoolers are ready to cooperate as a group, challenge them to demonstrate what they would look like if they were the fire being built from kindling.
