ACTIVITY
The Campsite

There’s plenty of physical activity involved in camping out. If children see it as a challenge and not a chore, physical activity becomes something to be looked forward to.

Before You Start
Tell the children about the experience of camping. Have any of them ever gone camping? What was it like? Specifically discuss the images listed below.
Let's Begin
1. Challenge the children to demonstrate:

• Pitching a tent
• The shape of a tent
• A piece of kindling
• A larger piece of firewood
• Rubbing two sticks together to create a spark
• Flames dancing
• The shape of a marshmallow
• A marshmallow melting
• A sleeping bag being unrolled
Furthermore
If you want to end the exercise in a relaxed manner, challenge the children to demonstrate crawling into the sleeping bags and zipping up.
