Campfire Songs

An Activity for Preschoolers
Fingerplays and songs encourage movement and motor skills. It is important to feed growing baby brains lots of language and music.

Before You Start
Position baby so you can look at each other while playing.
Let's Begin
1. Sing the following camping song to the tune of "The Farmer and the Dell":

A camping we will go, A camping we will go, Pack our bag and off we go, A camping we will go. WEEE!

2. Move the baby’s hands and arms with the rhythm. Encourage her to clap.

3. Add additional verses like, A hiking we will go, A fishing we will go, and so on.

4. Place baby on you lap and gently bounce her as you sing.

Sing other campfire songs or play music for baby to listen and move to.
