Before You Start
Gather the children into a circle. Facilitate a discussion about camping, and encourage children to share their camping experiences with the class.
Let's Begin
1. Pass the filled backpack around the circle.

2. One by one, have the children pull out an item and brainstorm with the class the many reasons that item might be useful to bring on a camping trip. Continue until all items have been discussed.

3. Next, take all the items out of the backpack and place in the center of the circle.

4. Give each child a chance to take an item from the pile and hide it (while the rest of the children have their eyes closed) when the item is hidden the other children try to guess which item is missing.
Furthermore
Brainstorm with children about other items (not in the backpack) that would be useful to bring on a camping trip.
