ACTIVITY
Fairy Godmother Dresses

Infants use their hands and mouths to touch and learn. Provide baby with a variety of textures to explore.
Curriculum Area
Sensory Development and Gross Motor Skills
Before You Start
Cut dress shapes from various types of fabrics with different textures. Glue or sew the shapes to a blanket or fabric.
Let's Begin
1. Spread the cloth on the ground.

2. Let baby crawl over the fabrics or lay him nearby and encourage him to reach and grab

3. Babies might chew on the cloth. That’s okay.

4. Talk about the different textures, describing them as soft, smooth, rough, or shiny.

5. Attach the cloth to the wall down low, so babies can grab at it throughout the day.
Furthermore
Tell the story of Cinderella and her fairy godmother. Babies won’t understand the story, but they like to listen to your voice and the words.
