ACTIVITY
Let’s Fly!

An Activity for Preschoolers
Rocking and spinning stimulate a baby’s vestibular senses (the senses of motion and balance). Not only do many infants find this stimulation to be soothing, but it also has been found to contribute positively to the development of motor skills and reflexes.
Curriculum Area
Sensory development
Before You Start
Stand holding the baby in your arms, face down.
Let's Begin
1. Starting slowly, turn with the baby.

2. Gradually increase your speed, happily exclaiming the she’s “flying.”

3. Occasionally pause in your turning, either stopping completely or rocking the baby back and forth. He’ll let you know what he prefers!
Furthermore
Babies also like to be held in laps and spun around in swivel chairs!
