Cinderella Kisses

 
Babies are listening as you fill their brains with words. Jump rope rhymes provide a strong beat and allow for fun movement.

Before You Start
Sit in a chair with baby on your lap. Position baby so you can look at each other while playing.
Let's Begin
1. Begin to bounce baby slowly up and down on your knees. For younger babies you must be gentle and provide a lot of support. Take your cue from older babies to see what speed they enjoy.

2. Recite the old jump rope rhyme “Cinderella.”

Cinderella, dressed in yellow Went upstairs to kiss a fellow How many kisses did she give him? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

3. Bounce baby in time to the rhythm.

4. When you are counting kisses, lean down to kiss baby’s forehead.

5. When you get to five, let baby slip slightly in your lap and “catch” her. Watch for the response.
