ACTIVITY
Spider Bracelets

Handprints are transformed into a spider that perches on a child’s wrist.
Before You Start
Read books about spiders, such as The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle or Miss Spider’s Tea Party by David Kirk.
Let's Begin
1. Have children trace their hands onto black construction paper.

2. Cut out the handprints. Place them together palm to palm, so that the fingers fan out like spider legs.

3. Draw eyes near the thumbs, making the thumbs resemble the antennae.

4. Glue to a strip of black paper that can be wrapped around a child’s wrist.

5. Glue the strip together, making it large enough for the child’s hand to slip through.

6. Curl the legs by wrapping around a marker or pencil.
Furthermore
Create spider snacks with chocolate cookies, icing, and licorice legs. You can also use round crackers, peanut butter or cream cheese, and pretzel sticks.
