Before You Start Talk with your class about wool and sheep. Have some samples of yarn, a wool scarf, etc. for them to feel. Explain to the class that the wool is “sheared” from the sheep without harming it, and then it is processed into yarn and fabric. Let's Begin 1. Have kids use school glue to attach cosmetic puffs or cotton balls to the outside of the milk carton. Use a few extra puffs on one side to make a head, and add a single extra puff to the opposite side to be a tail. Glue wiggly eyes onto head. 2. Help children carefully add soil to about 1” from top edge. 3. Have them sprinkle grass seeds in a solid layer on the soil, then add about ½” of soil on top. 4. Gently water. 5. In a few days, the grass will sprout. Water when soil feels dry to the touch.
