ACTIVITY
Body Boogies

From sitting up to crawling to walking - babies are constantly mastering the movements of their own bodies. Songs and rhythms appeal to infants and they will focus on your voice as you help them move.
Before You Start
Choose a position for baby to sit in so he can see you. Younger babies can lie down on their backs, while older babies can sit or stand facing you.
Let's Begin
1. Turn on the music. Watch to see if the baby reacts or moves to the rhythms.

2. Start with the hands and "dance" with baby. Grasp her hands and her shake back and forth, gently.

3. Increase the pace if baby seems to like the movements.

4. Move on to the upper arms and shoulders.

5. Repeat with feet and legs. Older babies will want to stand and jump up and down while you support them.

6. Talk to baby while you dance. Tell him what body parts he is wiggling as you move together.
Furthermore
You do not need a prerecorded music to sing with babies. Choose songs that encourage movement and body recognition, such as Pat-a-Cake or Head and Shoulders. Rock the baby back and forth as you sing Row Your Boat or play Pop Goes the Weasel.
