I am a student in the E.C.E program in Toronto, Canada. It is very hard to deal with the general public regarding E.C.E as a profession. A great many regard this field as nothing more than babysitting. The pay reflects this also. What I want to know is, how are E.C.E's regarded in the U.S? Is there standardized requirements for E.C.E's across the U.S or does it vary from State to State? What is the pay like? What kind of education is required to become an E.C.E? If anyone can answer any of these questions, I would really appreciate your input. I would like to do a comparison of the U.S and Canadian practices for one of my classes.
