Hi Glenda, in my work as a phn i had several questions from parents, about not able to do something for themselves. The child wanted always to be with them. I advised them to use an alarm clock to spend more time alone. You start with 1 minute. During that minute the child is in his playing field and you're in the kitchen. As soon as the alarmclock goes, you can be with the child again. But tell the child what is going to happen. Everytime you do it, you count more minutes. It really works. Also with the little children. If you can work together with the mom on this, and you can encourage her, I'm sure that it will help. Good Luck!
