I often run into problems with those who know very little about Early Child- hood Education, and they see the job as babysitting. I am a Prekindergarten Teacher in Chicago, and when my students' parents visit my classroom, they soon discover that it is far from just babysitting. Those who view Early Childhood as a babysitting job, know little about the philosophy. It would be helpful to include the philosophy of your program in a newsletter. Also, in regard to pay, some private or nonprofit organizations tend to have low staff and pay for qualified Teachers. This in turn, causes a terrible limit on supplies for the school.I work at the Chicago Board of Education,and the pay is pretty good. Don't let those who know very little about Early Early Childhood discourage you! I would not trade my field of study for anything!
