I have a little boy in my 3 and 4 year old classroom who has bad dreams the same time everyday at naptime. He says things and sometimes screams things like "NO", "GET OFF OF ME" and " I WON'T BE BAD ANYMORE". His former teacher says he was having these dreams in her class too at the same time of day. Also two days ago one of his friends did something that made him mad so he held onto his belt and "said do you want me to take this off?" I very quickly stepped in and told him we do not take our belt off unless we are using the bathroom. He then told me men take thier belts off and beat people and that he could not wait till he was a man and he will take his belt off and beat people.He said his dad takes his belt off and his mother hits him with it. I am very concerned about this but also scared at the same time because his mother is an assistant teacher at my center. I have told the director she is calling a psychiatrist that works closely with our center to find out what we should do. My question is how do I deal with this in my head? If social services is called what do I say if his mother approches me? Someone please answer me. I really need some help on this one. Thank You So Much!!!!!!!!!
