Subject: not eating

relax mom! maybe go a day without fretting if she eats or not. just serve the meals, and if she eats she eats. if not, oh well. have you tried having her help you prepare the meal? or even serving up the (applesauce) on everyone's plates? maybe she is liking all the fuss over her not eating. she still may be scared over the choking incident. I had severe food poisioning as a child, and barely ate for a summer. my dad had me pick out the foods for dinner, that helped. but not junk. he gave a choice, like chicken or meatloaf. peas or carrots. applesauce or pudding. that helped. and I did'nt pick up bad eating habits. I see too many kids in that come into my preschool classes that will 'only eat' chicken nuggets (for example). the child just stopped eating and the parent gave in to the child's limited food choices (usually high-fat/ low nutrition foods). yes, the child is eating, but not getting the nutrition for brain development. (and you can tell the child is not healthy). just take some time and sit back, since it's summer maybe she would like to make some frozen juice bars with mom?
