Jennifer, The only thing I can think of...
Jennifer, The only thing I can think of is perhaps she has acid reflux. I know I have problem with this and for a while (before it was diagnosed) I could not eat. My food would get stuck constantly and I would choke often. When your food gets stuck a couple of times, it is very scary. If this happened to a child - I could see why this might be scary. The barium swallow will show if this is the problem. I think the tests are important to rule out any and all medical reasons. On a side note - has any one explained to her recently (in school or home) what happens to your food when it is swallowed. I am asking because at a child care center I recently visited, they had a kindergarten child who refused to eat. She had a lesson in school on digestion and it creeped her out. SHe couldn't eat thinking about all the things that happened to her food once she swallowed it. I hope things work out with your daughter!
