I have owned a child care center for 12 years now. The salary difference between myself and the director is about 2,000 dollars a year and I am the one with all my money tied up in the center and have to accept all the liability if anything goes wrong. Having a union would do very little to change anything because to pay my staff more would mean that I would have to raise prices and then the parents could not afford to have thier children in child care. It would mean closing the center and my staff losing the job and income that they do have. It is a catch 22. The only child care positions that a union may have an effect on would be possible school district positions or maybe head start positions. Name: Email: Subject
