crazy parents
If the only way to receive proper nutrition was via sucking on a baby bottle then I could accept the reasoning these parents are using. However, how long do they plan to continue this so called neccessity? What is obvious is the fact that the parents are controlled by the child's whims, and unable to deal with her, so when you were gone they gave in out of frustration to the child's demands. this is a cop out, an excuse for poor parenting. Nutrition has nothing to do with a baby bottle. A child does not need to consume cow's milk to be healthy, as cow's milk actually was meant for a 200 pound calf. Soy milk can be taken from a glas. Milk is not the best source of calcium. And vitamins do exist. All in all, this is a case where the parents are letting the child linger in babyhood as they dont have the skills or the desire to help her grow up emotionally.
