AFSCME is not in Minnesota that's more of their propaganda. Home based childcare is fighting the union. It's ridiculous to think it could benefit us to join. We set our own wages, write our own contract with parents and they can't get us health care. They have used underhanded methods to get so called members and then turn around when faced with opposition and set up meeting and hearings with our commissioners, with out providers in put. All the union wants from home- based childcare providers is are money. I hope anyone in a home based operation asks them the hard questions before they agree to join. Like who is going to pay for healthcare, retirement, and better insurance. Is it possible for these things in my state and what dose the health policies look like in the other states.
