Its hard confronting staff members that have been there so long and your the new kid on the block - but you are the director, so it does put you in a hard position. I would call her in for a meeting (maybe you could do an overall staff apraisal so it does not look so directed at her and it will give everyone a chance to speak to you about how the feel weather it be about her or anything else, knowing that you will keep it confidetial) My guess would be that she is stressed out and in need of a holiday (how many years has she been in the one room - maybe a change of room could help) good luck Narelle
