Subject: baby cries when daddy even looks at her

My son became a father at the end of November. His daughter lives about 8 miles away, with her mother and grandparents. He is no longer with the mother, but sees the baby anywhere between once and four times each week. It is so hard for him, because as soon as the baby sees him, she cries. I don't mean for a minute or two, I mean the entire time he is with her, whether it is for an hour or three hours. His visits are not court-ordered, and he loves his daugher and wants to spend time with her, but hates seeing her so upset. She is only 3 1/2 months old, and this has been going on for the last month. He doesn't know what to do, and is frustrated and heartbroken that she "doesn't like" him. Please, please post your suggestions here, or email me at dhkl@iup.edu. Thank you!
