Subject: 4 year old not eating

I'm the grandmother and was never allowed to give my input on my granddaughter's eating habits. This is not a new thing, but a problem as long as I can remember. She has never been allowed eggs, tomatoes, ketchup, type things, as I was told she was allergic to this. She now only likes pretzels, crackers, that sort of thing. Oh, yes, ice cream. I believe her mother still gives her formula, because that's all she will take (I guess) nutritionally. She is sick a lot, runs fever, has been put on iv's twice in her 4 years. Her mother has never cooked meals, always been spoon feed. Since the age of introducing her to various foods, she's been given mushy stuff like meat and rice mashed up, yogart, etc. She was never introduced to veggies, fruits, etc. as a baby, so she really has no acquired taste for anything like this. She doesn't even hold her fork and spoon properly, because she has never had any practice. I believe this is starting to be a physcological disorder. She even commented one time, she didn't want to get fat. Actually this story goes on and on. Any suggestions out there?
