My nephew is 7 years old and still poops in his pants. Supposivly, he does not realize it. My mother and sister don't do anything about it, they just lecture him for a second, and then clean it all up and let him go play again. It seems he does it when he's playing outside, or on the computer, but just doesn't want to interupt his play to go to the bathroom. The thing is, he doesn't do it in school. And, when he does poop, he'll sit there with his hands in his pants getting it on his hands and then touching things, smearing it. It's quite discusting. Obviously, if he has his hands in his pants, he knows what he has done, and he STILL won't do anything about it! He just lets it sit there until someone tells him to get into the shower. When he is getting watched by my other sister, he doesn't do it either, because she punishes in a way. So like I said, he must know that he's doing it.
