8 yr old daughter sporadic pooping
I am relieved to know I am not the only one with this problem. My 8yr old daughter goes through short periods of pooping in her pants. It may be once in a few months or 14 days in a row as was the last time. She was potty trained around 3 years old and never really had a problem until about age 6. She is a very bright happy child that is involved in swimming and soccer with no known "stressors" that trigger it. It is upsetting but I can sort of understand the occasional accident while out playing due to not wanting to break from the fun. However when the multiple day events happen she usually does it at home when access to the toilet is available. The disturbing thing now is that she will wear the soiled garment to bed and then school the next day until discovered at bath time. She makes no effort to change when this happens. My wife and I have tried everything from punishment, pleading, ignoring, rewarding, crying but nothing gets through. It will just stop only to reappear months later. Very frustrating.
