rote counting
Actually I never ignore rote counting too.As I said before its useful for memory also a stage for numeracy. But some teachers cant see differency between improving math skills and rote counting. I know that activities and its work great. You can also make a display you can use it to shows number of each days. So children get excited when they see numbers of days.
