Subject: my 4 year old choked and now wont eat

my 4 year old son choked last week on a home made chip, it was a traumatic scene and has upset him to the extent of refusing to eat I have tried every thing i can think of to encourage him but we are doing battle every day with my stubburn little boy winning, I have taken him to the doctors but they say not to worry he will eat again, I have just managed to get him to eat a small yogurt and drink a fruit smoothie , but he will not chew any food i give him, even porridge he will spit out and not swollow, he loves chocolate and when i give it to him he will only lick it and then puts it in the bin, I am very worried as what i should do and how long do we continue like this before he becomes unwell.Everyone says he will not let himself starve and he will starts chewing soon, but this waiting game is not helping my nurturing instincts that my son is not getting the nutrition he needs. please note i am not a nurotic mother just a worried one. Hope some one can help please !
