room names
We use color names and shapes for each of our rooms, i.e. red triangle room, blue circle room. The colored shapes our outside of our rooms on a flag and a sign. The children's backpack's all have tags with their colored shape to help adults guide them to their correct room. We have a school-wide postal system for 6 weeks. The children address letters to friends in the other classes using the colored symbols to help student volunteers deliver the mail. The colored shapes for rooms provide a lot of learning opportunities for our young children.
