Teachers will have to have a specialization 4 yr degree in early childhood education. (some states already require teaching certificates for state funded schools). So, what shall the pay be? Public schools pay preschool teachers with a 4 yr degree about $28,000 a year working the school year. I see too many 4 yr degreed 'teachers' in day cares working for $8 an hour. these well-meaning, helping (subsidizing) parents afford day care, 'teachers' accepting such low pay in day care just cheapens our profession.
