How much space do you need for a family child care
Well first you need to find out what your state regulations are. The state of Indiana allows 12. However I don't think I could handle having 12 children and another adult in the house at the same time. Until I can expand, or can add an extra room. I may not have more then eight. So with all that being said 1 check with state regulations 2. maybe invite a group of friends and family members children over for an afternoon and see how you will feel with that amount of children (this will allow you to get an idea of your house flow with active children) If you are overwhelmed it will not be a good experience for you or the children Ideally you should designate at least one room for only child care purposes with open spaces. LImit the amount of items you have in the room. Preferably you can have a closet, garage, or basement to store unused items. Rotate toys.
