Resource
There is a great resource you have to call if you're serious about this. Tom Copeland of the Redleaf Press Institute. You can email him directly with this question and he'll let you know what is involved and what you would need to do. I would say, though - use caution when selling to someone you don't know. They're taking on your name. People will assume that the next person is getting your stamp of approval. God forbid that person isn't the same kind of person you are... Plus to the person willing to take over your daycare... they are going to want to know if you've ever been violated or what-not. Basically, the kind of person you are. This is so much more than selling your house. Personally, I wouldn't sell my name. Maybe all the STUFF - the toys, the furniture, etc., sure - maybe even my house. But NEVER my daycare name. I've worked to hard to make mine what it is. I wouldn't sell that to anyone. Let them build up their own name - if they're worthy of it.
