    Subject:Did I over reacting?

My daughter was insulted in daycare center in TX. From daycare screen I saw my daughter's teacher(she is new only three days) took her blanket away rudely from her hand & throw to the top of shelf without any explanations. Let her cried out by herself. I rushed in, hold her up & went to the instructor's office rightway. Next day, the instructor told me, that teacher said she told my daughter twice to put her blanket away, but my daughter said no. Also, teacher had bad day she was frustrated, so she did that to my 3 years old daughter. If I wouldn't stop by the screen & find this horrible things rightway, I can't think how poor this little innocent girl's hopeless day. In my mind, that teacher doesn't have 'heart & skill' for been early childhood teacher. But the instructor said she is good to other kids & strong acdemicly. For my concern is she will do this to the other kids too. What is your thought?

Subject:You have absoulutly every right to be up...

You have absoulutly every right to be upset, i would be to! i have been in child care for 14 years and know that you have days where it is extremly frustrating BUT you dont take it out on the kids! What i find scarriest about your story is the fact that the teacher had only been there for three days! - she should be super fresh! AND the directors response - thats she is good to other kids and is an Academic! i think a caring nature and treating all children equally is more important. Out of curiosity how often does the centre turn over staff? - just trying to think of why a teacher who has been working for three days could be so frustrated. (May be its an awful place to work... if so do you want your child there) - A lot of parents at our centre love the facts that * 10 of the staff are over 30 years old - * 3 of us have been there for 10 plus years, then another 6 for over five years it shows through that we all enjoy being there, even when we are having a bad day.

    Subject:Teacher turned over %

Thanks for answer my question. I took my child out of there already. That daycare center turn over is about 30%. I questioned instructor before. She said 30% is beter than lot's of darecare center. My daughter has been there for 1 year & 5 month. The good teacher I realy liked were 8. 7 left. Every 2 or 3 month she'll get new teacher. I'm sure right now is thier mangement & personal's problem. I will report to their headquater & daycare licens department.

    Subject:Corprate owned centres

I noticed you said that you would report them to their 'headquaters' from this i am asuming that it was one of a chain of centres owned by the same company. I would love to know how they treat you and respond to your claim. I made the decission early this year to NEVER work for a company that owns aprox 1500 centres in Australia (they tries to buy the centre where i work) when the person that runs/own this huge chain was on 60 mins happily chirpping about his huge profits - suggesting to me that that is what was most important. We have had children move from his centres to ours & have had staff that work for him tell us horror stories of how profits come 1st. If i were you, i would look for a smaller privatly owned centre.
