I am a college student and I am trying to decide what degree I am actually to achive. At first I was leaning into towards teaching 3rd or 4th grade, but now I am thinking towards teaching preschool. I am just not sure what to do. Does any one have any suggestions or advise that I should take before making my final dission. Any help would be greatly apperciated. Thanks.

Hi Stacy - i think the best way for you to come to a decision is to spend time in both enviroments! Volenteer for a week at both - pay attention and get a warts and all view of what teaching in each age group really involves. I love my job - and have been there for 11 years... but when people go "Oh thats so cute...." about spending my day with 10 toddlers - i just want to say You have no idea what its like when they are all having a bad day - with crying/tantrums/toilet training/feeding ec. When i have students and volenteers come in they are always surprised at just how much work is invollved.
