Subject:Box Tops For Education

OK, I have brought up the idea of saving the box tops for our whole center and another teacher and I are going to be in charge of helping the center collect them. Anyway my question is what can you buy with them, and has anyone had experience with this. I went to the website and all I saw was that you could buy recipes to make. I was a little confused because I thought that you could buy items for your school or center. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

I wasn't aware of purchasing items through Box Tops. I understand that there are two times per year when you can submit them and receive a check for which you can spend on anything for the center. I also thought the program was only for K-8 schools. Call or email them with your questions.

If your prek school is in a K-8 school you can also participate. You receive 10 cents for each box top collected. You can't purchase items though there only get money.

I was a General Mills sales rep for 10 years. The program is just what it says "FOR EDUCATION". Only schools are eligable to redeem them. Unlike Campbells, that requires them to use the $$ toward things from their catalog, they can spend the money on any thing the schools want. The schools are required to register with General Mills for the program details and redemption. That's how they keep it legit!! You don't save the box top, only the little square that says "Boxtops for Education". You can still help your local school by saving them..All of GM's products have them + Pillsbury refridgerated products, Kleenex, and numerous other brands.

I was told the program was only for k-8 schools. Preschools that are not housed in a building with k-8 are not included. I was wondering if a program that called itself 3k and 4k could technically qualify. Has anyone tried?

I have tried for our UPK and received a letter back from them telling me that I needed to be K-8. If someone has better luck I would love to know how to get in on it!
