Subject:22-month old climbs out of crib

I caught my 22-month old daughter climbing out of her crib. I walked in as she was teetering dangerously on the top. One stumble and she would have gone right over the side and onto the floor! I immediately went to the store and bought a "big-kid" bed for toddlers, but now when she wakes up in the night she sleepily walks right into our bedroom... Help!

Hi Julie! I too went through something very similar with my own child when he moved into the toddler bed. What I did was a put a baby gate in OUR bedroom doorway so he couldn't just come into our room if he wanted to. Obviously if he NEEDED me, I would go to him, but a lot of the time he was just coming in to tell me he was up and wasn't I proud of him. Basically looking for me to play with him. It was suggested I put the baby gate in HIS bedroom door, but I thought that might instill a feeling of panic - like he was trapped. I didn't that would be good for him. Basically, trainging your child to stay in bed is the same as potty training them. Takes lots of patience, lots of practice, and sometimes some kind of a reward system. Mine for my son was praise. He even got to the point in the mornings of saying, "Mommy aren't you proud of me? I stayed in my bed ALL NIGHT!" And while hugging him I'd say, "I sure am! You must be growing up to be so big!" So just try to get your own sleep and stay the course!

    Subject:Halloween Craft Ideas

Hi everyone. I'm new to this site, and I wanted to know if you guys had any cool Halloween craft ideas for my class of fours. Some of the kids are scared of skeletons and ghosts, so are there any ideas out there for non-spooky Halloween decorations that they could make? Any help would be excellent! Thanks, Kaleeshya

THere are cute ghosts and skeletons that are not scary. I have a rule No Scary costumes. If they send one. I call the parent and explain that they will not be wearing it because it is scary for the others. I don't usually have a problem. Everyone sends a costume that is cute.
