Looking for some fresh, budget-friendly ideas to welcome back sunny spring weather? Let us help. Check out this list of creative projects, games and activities to help your youngsters stay busy (and active) until school's out for the summer!

11. Get an early start on summer reading and create your own classroom book club. Kids can take turns sharing their favorite parts of a book with the group, or they can even act out scenes from the book by making sock puppets, finger puppets or hand puppets.

12. Create thoughtful gifts for Mother's and Father's Day, or for teachers and other loved ones with Liquid Watercolor™ flower pot frames or bobble heart note holders. Both make lasting keepsakes they'll be sure to cherish for years to come. They’re easy to decorate with Glitter Liquid Watercolor™ , BioColor® or Colorations® markers.

13. Recycle your clean, empty cardboard egg cartons to make eco-friendly crafts such as caterpillars and butterflies. Cut out the bottom cups of a clean, empty egg carton to create two rows of six cups. Paint them to look like the "bodies" with BioColor®. Attach pipe cleaners for antennae at top. For butterflies, glue on construction paper "wings" to sides.

14. Long winter days have kids bouncing off the walls? Now that spring is here, get the kids outside for jumping fun. Grab a set of individual jump ropes or longer 16' nylon ropes for group activities.

15. Take the kids outside for a nature walk or a day hike and explore the spring in full bloom. Let the kids use big magnifiers to study flowers, plants, insects and other interesting objects close-up. Then they can record observations and/or draw pictures in their own notebooks.

16. Create your own bouquet of spring blooms to last all year using tissue paper. Tissue paper flowers are precut into pretty petals and come complete with chenille stems. Or create your own with Colorations® Premium Art Tissue and pipe cleaners.

17. Make every day an Earth Day with your own personalized, reusable canvas lunch bags! These reusable bags are easy to decorate with fabric paint and Colorations® permanent markers!

18. Create a giant spring-themed class banner or colored canvas quilt. The quilts allow children take turns decorating their own squares with a personalized message or picture. Or, have everyone design their own hanging canvas banners to display in the classroom.

19. Make use of the light spring breezes. Kids can decorate their own windsocks or design their own pinwheels. Then take them outside to watch each one spin and move with a gentle wind. It's a great opportunity to talk with children about changes in the weather and seasons. Kids will especially love watching the colors of their pinwheels blend together as they twirl!

20. Kids can design an original re-recordable postcard and send their own personalized messages to loved ones. Decorate for different holidays and occasions using Colorations® Super Washable Chubby Markers and Extra-Large Crayons then add picture stickers or gemstone stickers for extra pizzazz.
