I think that the Australian Government is well aware of what it does to childcare when they increase the cost. I feel that the government is these days silently pushing parents to stay home and care for their children rather than put them in care.
As professionals we also cry that we are not respected enough and one of the reasons many carers claim this is because of the minimal pay they receive. Its a vicious circle im afraid. We want more pay but dont want parents to have to pay for it for risk of losing our jobs, but someone has to.
