I am interested in hearing from early childhood educators regarding whether they see a lack of imagination and creativity in young children--ages 5-10--these days. My thesis is that our accelerated culture, with kids going from one scheduled activity to another, and feeling the same sort of "time deprivation" is causing stress on kids, and making them more "outer-directed" than "inner-directed." It seems as tho kids have no time to daydream, no unstructured time, less and less interaction with nature, etc. Any comments or anecdotes? Thanks very much.
